William H. (Bill) Droste was elected in 2002 to his first term as Mayor of Rosemount, Minnesota. Prior to his election, Mayor Droste served on the Rosemount Planning Commission from 1995 to 2001. His other service to the community includes current positions on the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Board of Directors, Dakota Future Board of Directors, Minnesota Statewide Radio Board, Regional Council of Mayors (Executive Committee), Dakota County Technical College Advisory Committee, and several legislative policy committees. Other activities include Trustee for the SKB Environmental-Rosemount Community Trust (2002); volunteer coach with the Rosemount Area Athletic Association, and many past volunteer positions throughout his working career.
Mayor Droste holds a Masters of Science degree in Telecommunications from Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Upper Iowa University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Droste currently is employed as a realtor with Keller Williams Preferred Realty and a reserve teacher with Minneapolis Public Schools. Prior to that, he worked 28 years in the communications industry for Qwest Communications as an Operations Manager and Senior Market Analyst.
