Electronics Recycling
Special Care for Electronics
Electronic products containing a cathode ray tube (such as TVs and computer monitors) may not be placed in the garbage.

Why?
They can contain 2 to 8 pounds of lead and other hazardous materials that can affect your health and the environment if incinerated or landfilled.

What to Do?
Households may drop off their electronics for a fee to a certified electronics recycler (except The Recycling Zone – there is no fee for household electronics). Call first for days and hours, electronic items accepted and fees charged. Business electronics recycling is regulated; for recycling information call Dakota County at (952) 891-7548.

For more information visit the Dakota County Environment Department or Rethink Recycling.
