Elections were held in 2014 for the office of Mayor of Rosemount and for two seats on the City Council. The City Council canvassed the returns and approved the results on November 10. [View the vote count on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website.]

Primary results
Update, August 20: The deadline to request a recount has passed.  The four candidates who will appear on the November ballot are Mark DeBettignies, Kerry Hiben, Shaun Nelson, and Alba Nowlin.

From August 15
: The City Council certified the results of the primary election.  By a coin toss (see below), candidate Alba Nowlin was selected to advance with three other candidates to the November election.

From August 13: The primary election for two seats on the Rosemount City Council was held on Tuesday, August 12.  Four of the five candidates will advance to the general election on November 4.  Unofficial results show two candidates tied for fourth place in the primary.  

The City Council will hold a special meeting to canvass and certify the results on Friday, August 15, at 7:30 a.m. at Rosemount City Hall.  [View preliminary agenda and memos.]  The Council will conduct a lottery to determine the tie for fourth place.  After the Council’s action, the losing candidate will have five calendar days to request a recount of the votes at the City’s expense.

Vote Absentee
Changes in Minnesota Election laws now allow for absentee voting without an excuse.  You may request an absentee ballot online at this time through the Secretary of State's website, which will be mailed out during the absentee voting period.  Ballots may also be obtained in person or through the mail.  More information can be found on the Absentee Voting page.
