Recruiting Adult Education Students

Minnesota Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a state-wide system that serves approximately 65,000 adults annually.

The ABE programs can be a valuable resource for employers to help current or prospective employees.

ABE programs provide adults with educational opportunities to acquire and improve their literacy skills necessary to become self-sufficient and to participate effectively as productive employees, family members, and citizens.  ABE’s variety of services help adults build skills and increase employability including:

  • GED and Adult Diploma Classes
  • English Language Acquisition Classes
  • College and Postsecondary Education Preparation
  • Occupational and Workplace Skills Preparation
  • Family Literacy and Parenting Instruction
  • Citizenship/Civics Education
  • Basic Skills Enhancement in Literacy and Math
  • Digital Literacy

Additionally, some employers find the ABE programs to be a source for recruiting job applicants.
