Put your comments on the map

New technology allows businesses to provide faster and more in-depth information to the public. That is also true of government, as we now have the tools to provide quick access to information frequently asked by citizens. One example is the collection of maps on the City’s website that provide information regarding Rosemount’s City parks, new residential neighborhoods, and public road construction projects.

Rosemount Community Development has added a new interactive map to this site. The map, initially to be used for the City’s Comprehensive Plan update process, allows residents to highlight specific areas in the community and make comments

  • If you like your neighborhood park - comment!
  • If you want a stop sign at an intersection - comment!
  • If you want another apartment building Downtown - comment!

And if you like a comment your neighbors posted you can agree by choosing the thumbs-up sign or disagree with the thumbs-down sign and writing your thoughts.

The Citizen Comment map is designed to be fun and easy to use. Residents can start by clicking on the red Comment bar on lower right side. Next, type in your comment or use one of the dropdown choices. The online form asks for your name and email, but they’re optional. If you want a response, you will have to provide your contact information; we aren’t keeping your email information just for signing into the page. Finally, you can add in the specific address for the comment, or you can just click on the map while the comment box is open. That will drop the comment in the right location. Finally, don’t forget to end by clicking on REPORT IT to post the comment to the map.

The Citizen Comment map, other interactive maps, and the OpenGov information tool at are consistent with City Council goals of community engagement and transparency.
