A message from Chief Dahlstrom

dahlstrom letter

The Rosemount City Council joins all of you in feelings of shock, grief, and despair at the senseless killing of George Floyd. Our hearts break for his family, and the entire community that is devastated by this incident. As elected officials, we took an oath to uphold the Constitution and serve all citizens, regardless of race, and we take that oath seriously.

We also take very seriously our role in leading a Police Department, and we wanted to share Chief Dahlstrom’s poignant comments below. We trust and support our Chief and the leadership he provides, and we know our officers first-hand. They are public servants and peace officers at their core, and we expect them to perform with the utmost of professionalism and respect. This incident can never happen again in this Country, let alone in Rosemount, and we will continue to work to ensure that is the case.
